Other famous Lowellians include beat generation writer Jack Kerouac, Johnny Carson sidekick Ed McMahon, and film actress Bette Davis. The late Presidential candidate and Senator Paul Tsongas called Lowell home, as did current Senator John Kerry during his first run for Congress.
